Salmon Coast strives to educate students, visitors, volunteers, tourists, community members and the general public about the ecosystems we are working to conserve and restore

Salmon Coast hosts multi-day ecology-focused field courses for high school and university students, and recruits research project volunteers, usually undergraduate students eager for field experience.  Many other volunteers, ranging in age from high school students to retirees, also join us to contribute to our conservation and education efforts.

The Broughton Archipelago is a popular destination for kayaking, sailing, and power boating. Because of its central location, Salmon Coast is well-positioned to connect with visitors. We offer facility tours and informative outreach materials, and encourage visitors to share marine-mammal sightings, which are shared with the BC Cetacean Sightings Network.
