We are a remote biological field station located deep in British Columbia’s Broughton Archipelago. Salmon Coast emphasizes sustainable living with a small ecological footprint. The station has grown naturally from the need for a deeper understanding of the complex Broughton ecosystem; what we learn from these dynamic relationships can be applied to many coastlines.

Salmon Coast is committed to strong science that contributes to the resilience of this coast. The station is in an ideal location to provide access to the rich watersheds, the ocean they flow into, and the people that co-exist with them.

The purpose of the station is to provide basic and affordable facilities for cutting-edge research.
