Duration: Seeking general volunteers for March-September, and specialized volunteers year-round. We are no longer seeking general volunteers for the 2018 season.
Location: Salmon Coast Field Station in the Broughton Archipelago, British Columbia
Terms: $150/month stipend, accommodations, and transport between Port McNeill and Salmon Coast provided by Salmon Coast Field Station
Description: Salmon Coast is a vibrant, off-grid place of learning and discovery, made possible through the efforts of volunteers. Volunteers will learn and apply a variety of skills related to sustainable living, conservation science, public education, and community living. Station tasks including grounds and gardens work, cleaning, firewood, data entry, communications and public outreach, and other jobs. Bring your talents and interests and we’ll work together!
While working and during off time, this position offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Broughton Archipelago, as well as chances for boating and hiking excursions into the surrounding waters and forested islands. Come experience the incredible ecosystem we live in and have the satisfaction of knowing that you are contributing to its conservation!
We ask that general volunteers commit to a two week stay, unless you are coming to work on a specific project (i.e. arboriculture or videography).

Assets: Maintenance and trades skills, social media/communications, gardening/sustainable living skills, familiarity with small boats, interest in biology and coastal communities.
We’re particularly looking for volunteers with experience in arboriculture, construction, plumbing, off-grid electrical systems, and videography.
